The Human Resources Office provides the district with a variety of
services including personnel recruitment, training and evaluation.
This office is responsible for the identification of staffing needs,
candidate screenings and interviews, and the necessary background
checks, which includes fingerprinting. Civil Service positions are
also canvassed and prepared through this office. Committees are
established and conduct thorough interviews for teaching and
administrative positions. These committees consist of parents,
teachers, staff and administrators. Parents can volunteer to
participate on a committee through their respective Parent Teacher
Organizations. The Human Resources Office is also responsible for
providing meaningful and worthwhile staff development opportunities.
During the three-year probationary period, new teachers should
expect to participate in an extensive orientation program, receive
classroom observations, and be actively involved in discussions that
pertain to their professional growth. Additionally, this office
helps to plan and coordinate Superintendent’s Conference Days,
in-service training workshops, and on and off-site staff development
for all staff, teachers and administrators. The Human Resources
Office strives to provide the best faculty and staff for our
students. This on-going process contributes to Comsewogue’s success.
