Overview: To culminate a unit on different versions of Cinderella, students use Kidspiration to understand and be able to compare and contrast stories, compare and contrast characters, write a letter, write a story, create a fairytale, interpret a poem, sequence a story, identify character traits, and follow directions.

Standard:

Language Arts Learning Standards

1. Students will read, write, listen and speak for information and understanding.

2. Students will read, write, listen and speak for literacy response and expression.

3. Students will read, write, listen and speak for critical analysis and evaluation.

Materials Needed:

1. Kidspiration

2. Different versions of Cinderella (including the original version of Cinderella and Cindy Ellen)

3. Internet access

Preparation:

1. Understanding of the story of Cinderella.

2. Exposure to a variety of versions of Cinderella.

3. Explanation of how to use Kidspiration.

4. Explanation of what a web or concept map is.

On the computer:

1. Using Kidspiration students will complete the different graphic organizers depending on the skill that you are targeting.

2. Have volunteers present their graphic organizers to the whole group.

Follow-Up Activities:

1. Students can read a version of Cinderella independently and create an activity of their own using Kidspiration.

2. Share their projects with the class.

3. Share their projects via e-mail with a cooperative class.
