Virtual Enterprise Student Earns Full Scholarship
VE ScholarshipOne of Comsewogue High School's Virtual Enterprise students was offered a full tuition scholarship to LIU Post after interviewing with administrators during an elevator pitch competition on Friday, October 25th. Congratulations to senior Gianna Pelella for this outstanding achievement. The Sanford Scholarship is presented to entering full-time freshmen who have participated in the Virtual Enterprise program, and demonstrate the leadership characteristics that are found in successful entrepreneurs.

The Virtual Enterprise course is a new course that was introduced this year with the help of Mr. Mike Mosca, Principal of Comsewogue High School, and Mr. Don Heberer, District Administrator for Instructional Technology. Under the guidance of teacher Anthony Ketterer, the course provides students with the chance to start their own company. Students gain real world experience that covers all aspects of running a successful business. As part of the course, students also have the opportunity to participate in various competitions during the year.

“My husband and I are thrilled that our daughter Gianna has been awarded this incredible scholarship and invitation into the Dean Scholars business program at LIU," says Mrs. Pelella. "We are incredibly grateful to Mr. Ketterer and the wonderful administration at Comsewogue for investing in our children by bringing new classes, like VE, to our district that offer such amazing opportunities for our kids!”

Gianna is looking forward to all of her future endeavours and wants to pursue business and marketing in the future. This is certainly a wonderful accomplishment and life changing opportunity. Congratulations!
