Congratulations to Sarah Seale for being selected as a 2024 ASSET Scholarship winner! Sarah along with her family attended the ASSET 2024 Scholarship Luncheon on May 15th at Captain Bills in Bay Shore. Sarah will be attending Washington College in the fall. The ASSET $2,000 scholarship will help Sarah with expenses like tuition, books, and other college costs.
ASSET (Association of School Supervisors of Educational Technology) exists to enhance teaching and learning in Long Island and New York school districts through the use of computers and other educational technologies. ASSET is celebrating its 24th year of awarding scholarships to students that are pursuing fields related to technology. This year ASSET received over 40 applicants and Sarah was one of ten to receive this prestigious award. The non-profit organization is able to offer scholarships through left-over revenue generated from the organization's annual conference.
Sarah was able to bring her parents and one special someone from the school that made a special impact on her. Sarah chose High School Principal, Michael Mosca. When asked about Sarah, Principal, Mr.Mosca stated, "Sarah is a wonderful student and I know she is going to make us proud and accomplish great things." One of the highlights of Sarah's scholarship submission was her work in the Comsewogue School District with running the school's social media accounts as part of her role as a Student Social Media Manager. "I'm going to need someone else to run the social media next year, I guess?" Mr. Mosca joked to Sarah, "Are you sure I can't get you to stay?" Dr. Heberer, the District Administrator for Instructional Technology at Comsewogue and former ASSET Executive Board member stated, "Students like Sarah are special. They will be the ones to lead us into the future; celebrating their success and achievements is a small way we can say 'Thank You.'"
