Problem Based Learning (PBL) is a student-centered method in which students learn about a subject through the experience of solving an open-ended problems found within the curriculum. In addition to the core subject material, students gain insights into additional Instructional Strategies (Cornerstone Skills) and Life/Career Skills (21st Century Skills).
