The Comsewogue School District Board of Education recently held its annual reorganization meeting, at which time recently re-elected board members Richard Rennard, Corey Prinz and Margaret Mitchell were all sworn in for another term.
Richard Rennard was also elected and sworn in as president and James Sanchez was elected and sworn in as vice president. Trustees Francisca Alabau and Robert DeStefano were also present at the meeting. Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jennifer Quinn was also sworn in for another year leading the district.
The Board of Education also includes a student representative, whose name will be announced before the start of the school year.
“The Comsewogue Board of Education and I are already preparing for a very exciting year ahead and can’t wait to see what’s on the horizon for our district and students,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jennifer Quinn. “We’ve had a very successful year and I’m very happy to be going into September with the same group of dedicated, inspiring and passionate individuals.”
The Comsewogue Board of Education meets at the Norwood District Office Board Room on the first Monday of each month, starting at 8:00 p.m. All members of the community are welcome to attend, and parents are encouraged to let their voices be heard and take part in their children’s education. The Board of Education sets school policies, approves the appointment of personnel, adopts budgets, approves courses of study and, in many instances, must be the final arbiter on many controversial issues.
