On November 8th, Comsewogue High School’s Business Department hosted a highly successful Career Day, connecting 9th-grade students with professionals from a variety of industries. The event aimed to spark inspiration and guide students as they begin exploring future career paths.

The Business Department worked diligently to organize the event, securing an impressive lineup of speakers from various industries including healthcare, business, technology, law enforcement, and the arts. The day started with a Breakfast & Networking Session, followed by a Keynote Speaker, and then Breakout Groups. Each professional shared personal stories about their career journeys, offering students valuable insights into the skills and determination required to succeed.

“The Business Department really went above and beyond to make this event happen,” said one student. “The speakers gave us so much to think about, and I left feeling more excited about my future.”

Interactive sessions allowed students to ask questions and gain practical advice on education, internships, and networking. Many speakers emphasized the importance of building communication and problem-solving skills, key areas that the Business Department strives to cultivate in its students.

Mr. Anthony Ketterer, a teacher in the Business Department and one of the event’s key organizers, expressed his pride in the day’s success: “Seeing our students engaged and inspired is what it’s all about. Our goal was to show them that their dreams are within reach, and I think the speakers really brought that message home.”

This Career Day underscores the Business Department’s commitment to preparing students for life beyond high school, bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world opportunities. With such positive feedback, the department is already looking forward to next year’s event, aiming to make it even more impactful.
