The Comsewogue School District celebrated a spirited homecoming weekend with students, staff and alumni on October 25 and 26. Leading up to the weekend, students and staff members at all school buildings displayed their school spirit for Spirit Week, culminating in a lively pep rally. The weekend included festivities celebrating District achievements and success, and included with an exciting home game during which Comsewogue was victorious against Amityville High School with a final score of 42-6.
“Homecoming at Comsewogue is about spotlighting the pride, dedication and achievements of everyone in the District and community,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jennifer Quinn. “We had so much to celebrate this year and it was so inspiring to see our students, staff and alumni come together for an incredible weekend. We’re so proud of our varsity football team for concluding the weekend with a well-deserved win.”
Spirit Week included themed days for staff and students. There was Character Day, where participants came school dressed up as their favorite pop culture characters; Decades Day, which featured students and staff in vintage apparel; and Comsewogue Pride Day, which featured blue and yellow outfits to celebrate the District. The week concluded with a spirited pep rally that included games, a performance from the cheerleading and dance teams, and an introduction to the school’s Varsity teams. That night, students also celebrated with a bonfire and homecoming dance.
Kicking off the weekend was also a banner unveiling ceremony at Boyle Road Elementary School to celebrate its recognition as a National PTA 2023-2025 School of Excellence. District administration, Board of Education members, Boyle Road staff and local elected officials joined the event to honor the achievement.
It all led up to an exciting Saturday, which included the District’s homecoming parade, carnival and ribbon cutting of Comsewogue High School’s new courtyard. The District also inducted its newest hall of fame members during a ceremony commemorating each inductee’s memories, impacts and achievements. The class of inductees of the District’s hall of fame walked onto the field ahead of the game to be honored by the community.
The weekend concluded with a successful homecoming game, during which Comsewogue defeated Amityville with a final score of 42-6.
