The Comsewogue School District Character, Attitude, Respect, Empathy and Support (CARES) committee, under the direction of social worker Brandy Parisi, is proud to announce the creation of a new food pantry at Boyle Road Elementary School. Students are currently working on collecting food items and organizing the space to get it stocked and ready to serve the community.
“We are so proud of our students for their efforts launching this important community resource at our school,” said Boyle Road principal Nicole Sooknanan. “The students have been enthusiastic about contributing to this cause and it’s inspiring to see them work together to support their neighbors. This food pantry reflects our school’s commitment to fostering kindness, empathy, and community spirit.”
Currently, students at Boyle Road Elementary are actively involved in gathering food donations and organizing the pantry space to ensure it is fully stocked and ready to serve community members. The pantry will offer non-perishable food items to families in need.
The CARES committee at Boyle Road Elementary includes one student representatives from each classroom and is supported by staff and community members working together to make a positive impact. As the pantry becomes fully operational, the school hopes to continue to expand its efforts and provide ongoing support to families in need. The Boyle Road Food Pantry is one of the many projects that our Comsewogue CARES committee supports.
