The Comsewogue Counseling Department comprises of certified school counselors throughout the district. Counselors work in partnership with various constituents to help develop the whole child. This includes, but is not limited to: parents, administrators, support personnel, teachers, and community liaisons.
Counselors are available throughout the day to help students foster self-advocacy, self-regulation, and self-management in support of social-emotional learning. They also help customize personal educational plans that align to graduation and post-secondary requirements including: colleges, universities, trade schools, Branches of the Military, and employment.
Upon entry into the middle school and high school, students are assigned to a school counselor who will assist them throughout their time in each building. It is extremely important that students and parents get to know their counselor, since the partnership established will help to ensure open lines of communication and optimal success.
