Comsewogue School District and Comsewogue High School are proud to announce Jackie Antelo as the Class of 2024 Valedictorian and Alex Kosak as the Class of 2024 Salutatorian!

From the moment Jackeline Antelo walked through the doors of Comsewogue High School it was clear she was an impressive young woman. Her bright and inquisitive nature, combined with her mature demeanor immediately stood out.  Throughout her high school career, Jackie has consistently demonstrated her commitment to academic excellence, maintaining an impressive 104.08 grade point average, garnering her the title of Valedictorian for the Class of 2024.

What sets Jackie apart is her unwavering drive to consistently challenge herself in all aspects of her life. She possesses a thirst for knowledge and never hesitates to go above and beyond what is expected of her. Her curious mind and exceptional academic strengths have afforded her numerous opportunities. She was selected to participate in the WISE Program, where she excelled in an advanced engineering curriculum. Additionally, Jackie had the privilege of attending the CURIE Academy, where she further expanded her knowledge in the realms of science and engineering.

While Jackie's passion lies in becoming a mechanical engineer, she has also shown a keen interest in civil and aerospace engineering. She is the student who is constantly seeking to broaden her horizons. Jackie's ambition and dedication are truly unparalleled, and we have no doubt that she will excel in any academic and  professional pursuit she chooses to undertake.

Beyond her achievements, Jackie is a modest, conscientious individual with a heart of gold. She is well-respected by her peers and teachers alike for her compassion and willingness to lend a helping hand. We commend Jackie for the phenomenal individual she has become and look forward to her continued path of excellence, academics, and humanity.

At Comsewogue High School, we have so many outstanding students, and our 2024 Salutatorian, Alexander Kosak’s level of intelligence and talent undoubtedly shines brightly. His hard work and commitment to excellence are unmatched and have resulted in an impressive overall grade point average of 103.94. This exceptional outcome clearly demonstrates his drive for success and his ability to thrive in challenging academic environments.

Alex is the epitome of a phenomenal student leader. This was particularly evident during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, where he served on the Committee for Curriculum and Instruction. His contributions towards developing computer curricula for the school district and his role in launching a computer programming course to introduce elementary students to the world of coding was beyond impressive.

Alex's commitment to enhancing his community and making a difference is truly commendable. Alex has been recognized for his astounding academic achievements as an AP Scholar with Distinction and a recipient of the Board of Education Certificate of Appreciation for Citizenship and Service. Most notably, he has received the prestigious honor of qualifying as a 2024 National Merit Scholarship finalist, placing him among the top 1% of students across the country. This is a tremendous accomplishment, and we offer our heartfelt congratulations to Alex for this accolade.

Alex plans to pursue a degree in international business, with a focus on language and the ethical usage of AI in business and society. His ambition to obtain an MBA further exemplifies his drive for success. We have no doubt that Alexander Kosak will surpass his goals and make significant contributions in these fields and to our world as a whole.

We will greatly miss our Valedictorian, Salutatorian, and the entire Class of 2024, and we are so excited to hear of their future successes.
