Summer Enrichment

Registration & Session Dates

The ESBOCES Summer Enrichment Program is available to all students who will be entering Grades 1 through Grade 6 in September 2026. Session dates, tuition information and sample activities can be found on the page below. Full information is available in the brochures at the bottom of this page.

Activities

STEAM Activities

Hands-on STEAM activities are designed to make ALL students get excited about the world around them. Sample programs include: Makey Makey, Green Screen, Drones, Cubelets Bot Builder, Cosmic Coders, Canva and Video Game Design Bloxels.

Literacy Courses

Students will participate in small groups specifically designed to develop literacy skills and engage students in their learning. Students will have fun as they design and author their own creative works. Sample programs include: Rogue Rodent Mystery, Mo Willems, Mock Trial, Enchanted Steam Fairy Tales, Sweet Treats, Observing Ozobots, Ornithology and Book Creator.

Reading Adventures - Guided Reading

Students will explore a wide variety of texts by participating in small reading groups at their instructional levels and engaging in activities connected to their reading. Using both fiction & nonfiction, students discover how reading expands their understanding of the world. Across all program areas, learning experiences support the goals of the NY Inspires and Portrait of a Graduate initiatives by fostering communication, collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, and financial literacy.

Field Trips

Field trips are included in tuition and offered to all full day students. Parents or guardians may opt their child out of any trip. Please note that field trips are for students and staff only; parents may not attend.

Swimming

Students (with parent/guardian permission) will be bused on Wednesdays to the Town of Brookhaven Centereach pool. Students not going will join the regular afternoon schedule.

Other Special Events

Students registered for our last session are invited to join the end-of-summer celebrations.

Counselor-In-Training (CIT) Program

Available for students enterimg grades 7-12, parents can also register their children for the Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program This full-day, 6-week, fun and educational opportunity will help students develop leadership skills, gain hands-on experience, and build essential life skills. Participants will assist with activities for younger students, engage in STEM, community service projects, and receive training in financial and digital literacy. They will also enjoying exciting field trips and recreational activities. The program aims to boost confidence, enhance communication and problem-solving abilities, and strengthen teamwork skills, preparing students for future success in school and beyond.
