Good evening. It's Dr. Quinn. I have a few things I'd like to share with you. The first is I would like to congratulate all of our sports teams that made the playoffs. Varsity Softball plays Eastport-South Manor tomorrow at 6:00 P.M. at Eastport-South Manor. Varsity Boys Lacrosse travels to Harborfields on Wednesday for a 4:00 P.M. game, and Varsity Girls Lacrosse will host Eastport-South Manor on Thursday at 4:00 P.M. So, so proud of you.

Secondly, I just want to remind everyone, and I think you know by now, but our district is not piercing the cap. I'm watching the news and it is reporting that we are, for some reason. It's almost like they talk to Newsday instead of us. I don't know where this is coming from, but they did say they would change it as Newsday also said that they would be writing a correction in today's paper as well that was in there, but we are not piercing the cap. If you remember, we were looking to potentially pierce the cap or we were looking to pierce the cap because when we came out with our budget, we had to do that before the state gave us their information of how much money we're going to be receiving. If you almost think about it like in your own home, it would be like trying to plan your household budget when you didn't know how much your paycheck was.
But when we did get the information, the school board was very clear, they wanted to give that back to the taxpayers, so we lowered the rate from 1.9 to 0.9. The cap for our school district is 0.9, and that's where we're at this year. So we are not piercing the cap, we do not need a super majority. I encourage you to vote whether it's yes or no, please come on out and make your voice heard and we'll reach out to News 12 tomorrow. They already said that they were changing it tonight, but I just don't understand how they could put things on the news without verifying them.

Lastly, I'd like to ask you for a favor. If you come up to the high school, if your children come up or parking by the high school and you're parking on the street, please try not to block the mailboxes because it's preventing some of the residents from getting their mail. Good morning, it's Dr. Quinn. Our school district has once again been selected to be one of the best communities for music education. We're so proud of that and thank you to everyone who worked so hard to help us achieve this honor. The Terryville Fire Department is having a blood drive on June 12th, so you can save the date. Pack 354 is collecting flags for retirement. There's a drop-off bin at every one of our schools until June 11th.

Newsday somehow printed misinformation about our budget number. I know, shocker, right? So we are not piercing the cap. We received some additional funds that allowed us to remain under our 0.9 cap. The very day that we got this information, we reached out to John Hildebrand. In fact, he was the very first phone call that we made because we wanted to make sure that this did not happen. And we spoke with him quite a few times and verified the information multiple times and yet somehow they managed to print inaccurate information about our school district once again. So we will be requesting them to correct it and print the proper information. But again, I think everyone knows how that works. The headline is always in the front and the retraction is always in the back. I'm not sure how this possibly could happen. It's very disappointing. But we are not piercing the cap. We're seeking a supermajority. Our budget increase is a zero to 0% budget increase and our tax cap was a 0.9 and we are just there. Point nine. On to the weekly events: we have on Monday, the Spring College signing at the high school, which we're super excited for. That's at noon. And JFK has their sixth grade concert at the high school. On Tuesday is our budget vote and trustee board election. That's from 9:00 to 9:00. However you vote, we encourage you to please come and do that. It's going to be in the gym, so you can enter right through those side doors. The high school Honor Society cording is at 12 o'clock. The art show is at the high school. It's all week. It's open during school hours on the day of the budget vote. But as than that, you can stop by any time during the week. We have a senior gallery select section this year. It's really outstanding. So if you can, please stop by and check that out. And there is a spring concert for Terryville at the high school as well.

On Wednesday, Norwood has their career day. JFK has their spring concert. And on Thursday we have the One River art reception at JFK. If you can't get there Thursday, I'm sorry, it's not at JFK. JFK is one River Art reception. It's at One River Art. If you can't get there on Thursday, you can stop into the location, One River Art, and check that out. Good afternoon, it's Dr. Quinn. I hope everyone's having a wonderful Mother's Day. The state finalized their budget and foundation aid to schools on Friday. This was actually supposed to be done by April 1st, but they were late. So when that happens, we have to develop our budget based on what we estimate we'll be receiving. So I'm happy to say that we received an increase over what we projected and that allows us to keep the tax levy increase for next year within the district's tax cap of .9%. So we will not be seeking to pierce the cap as we had originally planned.

I think it's noteworthy to mention that while we are proposing a 0% change in budgetary expenditures, all student programming and services are being maintained or increased. More information can be found on the district's website, or you can always reach out to me with questions.

Congratulations to the boys unified bowling team for going undefeated during their first season. Pack 354 is collecting flags for retirement. There is a drop-off bin at every school until June 11th. On to the weekly events. On Monday there's a virtual middle states committee meeting at six o'clock. On Tuesday, Boyle has a PTA and fifth grade committee meeting. On Wednesday, Clinton and Norwood have their meetings. On Thursday we have the Terryville fifth grade dance. Clinton has an art show, and Boyle has a spring concert. On Friday, Clinton has their spring fling. Norwood has bingo night, and on Saturday we have the junior prom also on Saturday Cub Scout Pack 354 is having a car wash at Norwood from 11 to 12.

So lots of great things going on, the weather's getting better and we're almost getting to the end. So once again, happy Mother's Day and I'll speak with you soon.

You can come see all the students projects for Joe's Day of Service, and we have a Northwell food distribution event that ends at one. But we have a lot of food that we're looking to give away. So if you can, stop up at the high school. It's a beautiful day and we hope you can make it.

Subject: 2025-2026 Budget

Good afternoon. It's Dr. Quinn. I am calling with some great news. Our district received additional state aid. The Board of Education has applied these funds to our tax rate, so the rate is now going to be reduced an entire percent, so that's 1% lower. The new rate will be 0.9. The old rate was 1.9. This means that the new rate is below the tax cap, and we do not require a super majority.

We're very thankful for the additional funds, obviously. I just want to point out that part of the struggle of creating a budget is that we have to base our estimates on what the State is providing, but the State does not have to have their budget in place, although they're supposed to have it in place by April 1st. We just got the information yesterday, so we worked last night, the Board met today, and like I said, we've decided to decrease the tax rate and the new rate will be 0.9.

All the information will be up on the website if you want to check that out, but I'm really happy to be able to share that good news with you. Have a wonderful Mother's Day, and I'll talk with you tomorrow.

Good morning, it's Dr. Quinn. Today is May 4th, and the community garden on Terryville Road is hosting a May the Fourth Be With You Star Wars Garden Day. There's plant sales, bake sales, crafts for the kids, Star Wars selfie and lots more. Congratulations to seventh grade students who won the New York Create a Watershed poster contest and those students are Nicole Sherinen and Hannah Sullivan, and we're so proud of you.

On to the weekly events. On Monday, the science exams in grades five and eight are going to be held. On Tuesday, it's no homework Tuesday. Norwood has a plant sale, and Terryville has a PTA meeting. On Wednesday, the Norwood plant sale continues, and so Boyle's also kicks off. There's Open Gym Night for Boyle Terryville and JFK at six o'clock. We have our kindergarten read-aloud. We also have our Board of Education meeting and a budget hearing.

On Thursday, the Boyle plant sale continues. SEPTA has their meeting, and on Friday Warrior Weekend kicks off with the girls lacrosse game at six o'clock. On Saturday we have our Warrior Weekend, tons of events, so if you can check that out, it's going to be so great at the high school from 11:00 to 2:00. We have a resource fair, we have a color run, we have Joe's Day of Service, we have a craft fair, and there's a food distribution program happening right before the event starts, so I think that starts around 10:00. If you want to get up there, if you needed some food, there's lots to be given away.

Good evening, it's Dr. Quinn. I apologize for the late call, but we've been investigating and working with Suffolk County Police Department and that just concluded, so now I have the information to put the call out, and I wanted to get it to you before the day was over.

This afternoon after dismissal, Dr. Prinz, principal of JFK received what the district believed was a prank call from a child in Canada. The Canadian child stated that one of our middle school students had said in an online gaming platform that he had a bomb. Law enforcement was immediately notified, as were the student's parents. Law enforcement and the district conducted an investigation. At this time, we believe that there is no credible threat.

Safety and well-being of our community is always our highest priority, we take every call of this nature seriously and will proceed with our established protocols in such situations regardless of whether there is initial reason to believe the information is not factual or credible. I understand that some people may have found this funny when they made the call, but we did not find this funny at all and intend to follow up to the greatest extent possible.

Good afternoon, it's Dr. Quinn. I'm putting my call-out today instead of tomorrow because the Triple-C Club is hosting a craft fair at the high school until 4:00. They have lots of great vendors, so it's a really good activity for a rainy day. And if you could stop by and support them, it would be appreciated. Congratulations to Izzy Grillo for being selected to the All Long Island team for Girls Bowling, and that was featured in Newsday. Kindergarten Read Aloud is May 7th, at Norwood at 6:30. We do not have the general amount of kindergarten students registered, so that makes me think that some may be missing. So if you know anybody who has a student who should be coming into kindergarten next year, please remind them that registration is happening now and we don't want anyone to miss out on the Read Aloud.

Onto the weekly events. On Tuesday, New York State grades three through eight mathematics exams begin. Boyle has a spring book fair on Tuesday and Wednesday, and the high school is hosting a blood drive. We're allowing donors from the entire community, so if you're able to, stop by and help save a life. You'll also get a free T-shirt for participating. On Wednesday as well, Boyle has their PTA basket auction, bingo night, art show, and evening book fair. Busy night at Boyle. At district office, we have our Standards of Excellence committee meeting beginning after all of those events, and that's at 7:00. And then the Board of Education workshop is at 7:30. On Thursday, Terryville has their drama performance, and that's Aladdin for kids, and that's also on Friday. So have a wonderful week and I'll talk with you soon.

Good evening, it's Dr. Quinn. I'd like to congratulate Melissa Romano. She is the valedictorian for the class of 2025. And Natalia Pashkin, she is our salutatorian. So congratulations to both of you. We are so proud and can't wait to see you at graduation. Erin's Law will be taking place, the lessons that we have to do required by law, over the next month, and that's in K through 12 classrooms. If you'd like to check out the curriculum or have any questions, you can go onto the website or speak with your child's building principal.

On to the weekly events. On Monday, the ELA examination begins, unified basketball begins, and JFK is having St. Baldrick's Day starting at 2:00. On Tuesday, the high school has mini college day. Boyle has a PTA and fifth-grade committee meeting, and Terryville has a PTA meeting. On Wednesday, Norwood has their spring book fair, and we have an interactive spring art show at JFK, and Clinton has a CASA meeting.

On Thursday, the secondary third quarter ends. I can't believe that that is over and we're starting the fourth quarter. Norwood Spring book fair continues, and they also have their art show and evening book fair in the evening. On Friday, we have no school for students. It's our PJSTA Union Day. On Saturday, SEPTA is hosting an Easter egg hunt, and that's at 11:30 at Clinton. And then, I would like to wish everyone a wonderful Easter and Passover, and school reopens on Tuesday, April 22. Enjoy the break.

Onto the weekly events. On Monday, JFK Spring Sports begins. Tuesday, there's a SEPTA meeting at six o'clock at Terryville. Wednesday, we have our Board of Education Workshop, and that's at 7:30 at District Office. Thursday, the fifth graders at Boyle have their Panoramic Photo and Clinton has their Someone Special Dance. And on Friday, elementary second trimester grades will be posted on SchoolTool. Also, Terryville's Got Talent at six o'clock at the high school. A big, great week for our music program. Congratulations to all of the students who attended the NYSSMA Piano Festival this week, and congratulations and good luck to all of the students who are participating in the MYO Concert at 2:00 today. Congratulations to our marching bands who are involved in the St. Patrick's Day parades. Our middle school band is marching today in the Miller Place/Rocky Point St. Patrick's Day parade and the high school will be marching down Fifth Avenue tomorrow in New York City.

On to the weekly events. On Monday, it's St. Patrick's Day, so happy St. Patrick's Day. Spring sports begin at the high school. On Tuesday, Norwood has spring photos. On Wednesday. JFK Drama Club and Senior Citizens Show is at 4:30. Terryville Art Show and Evening Book Fair. We have on Thursday, Terryville Spring Book Fair, the elementary second trimester ends, and it's international Night at the high school. On Friday, it's our emergency evacuation drill. Everyone goes home 15 minutes early. Terryville Spring Book Fair continues. And this weekend, Friday and Saturday, we have the JFK production of Something Rotten! Congratulations to our DECA students who competed in Rochester. Dylan Order placed forth and is qualifying for Nationals. James Lanz received a medal in business finance, and Hannah Montoya received two medals. Congratulations to Sophia Deja, who placed eighth in the state winter track Championship in the high jump. Sophia also won the Section XI Sportsmanship Award, and Lexi Cole took 13th in the 3,000 meter race. Congratulations to Ethan Placencia-Nazareno, who took fifth in the State Swimming Championship in the 200-meter, and sixth in the 100-meter.

UPK registration is currently open for next year. The lottery will take place on March 21st. The applications are on our website and you can still sign up this year. We do have some open space if you need some child care help. On to the weekly events. On Monday, JFK has a PTSA meeting. On Tuesday, Boyle has a fifth grade PTA and committee meeting. Four of our enterprise firms will be advancing to nationals, which will take place in New York City in a few weeks. So congratulations for that.

Congratulations to Ethan Placencia-Nazareno for winning the 200m freestyle swimming event and placing third in the 100m last Thursday. Congratulations to Mason Mangialino who just broke the all-time win record for Comsewogue Wrestling. Mason earned his 169th win, so great job. Onto the weekly events, on Monday, Clinton and Terryville PARP Week begins. JFK has a PTSA meeting. Tuesday is no homework Tuesday and Norwood has a virtual NSA meeting. On Wednesday, it's open gym night, and we have that at Boyle, Terryville, JFK, and the high school. We have a Middle States Committee meeting and you can come in person or you can join via Zoom. We have a Board of Education workshop and Thursday, we will be remembering President Jimmy Carter and there is an eighth grade student and parent guidance night at the high school. Good morning. It's Dr. Quinn. I'm putting the call-out a little bit early in case you want to stop by the high school today for the Craft Fair. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there until one o'clock. So come on down, get some gifts and take some pictures. On Tuesday, there is a presentation from Recall Strategies. They're the New Leaf Energy Incorporated company. They're looking to build a battery energy storage system in our district, so I would be highly interested in finding out more about that. That meeting is going to be at seven o'clock at the public library on Tuesday.

Boys lacrosse clinic will be Monday the 16th from 6:30 to 7:30 at Norwood. Girls will be on Thursday from 6:30 to 7:30 at Norwood. The purpose of this clinic is for new players in kindergarten through sixth grade to be introduced to lacrosse and try out the sport. If they don't have equipment, they have plenty extra and you can borrow it. We have extra spots for our driver's ed program, so if you'd like to sign up for that, please do so right away 'cause they fill up quickly.

Onto the weekly events, on Monday it's Holiday Spirit Week, so on Monday wear your best spirit wear. Boyle has their circus project beginning and they also have their winter concert. On Tuesday, it's Winter Wonderland Day. JFK has their One River Art show reception at 4:30, and that's at the One River location and that's over by HomeGoods. So stop on in and see the artwork. You can stop in before. It's there as well. But the actual reception is on Tuesday. On Wednesday, it's Grinch Day and we are recognizing our scholar athletes at 1:30, grades nine through 11. On Thursday it is Holiday Sweater Day, and on Friday it is Pajama Day.

Good afternoon, it's Dr. Quinn. I'm going to put my call out today instead of tomorrow because there's some events that I thought you might want to participate in. Boyle's having their craft fair until 4:00 PM today. We have lots of students participating in the Dickens Festival down port. At six P.M the tree lighting at the train car is happening and one of our students, Spencer Aron, is unveiling his Eagle Scout project. On Monday, we have Norwood Fall picture retakes. We have our No Place for Hate kickoff event. It's 6:15 at the high school during the Varsity Boys basketball game. Terryville has the winter concert. On Tuesday JFK has their sixth grade winter concert. Wednesday Norwood has their holiday fair and the high school has their winter and chamber concert.

On Thursday, Boyle, Clinton, Norwood have holiday fairs, Terryville has fall makeup photos, and JFK has their seventh and eighth grade concerts. And on Friday, the elementary trimester grades will be posted on SchoolTool. Boyle has their holiday boutique, so does Clinton and Terryville and JFK. On Saturday we have another club and vendor fair at the high school from 10 to three. You're going to be able to come and see Santa and get some great holiday gifts. Good afternoon. It's Dr. Quinn. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. The district was made aware of Snapchat posts made by two of our high school students threatening harm to other students in the high school. These posts were actually from October, but were just recently sent to the students that were threatened. The police department was immediately notified and completed an investigation based on the interviews with these students and their families and visits to their home by law enforcement.

It was determined that no student in our district was ever at any risk or in harm's way, and that the threats were not credible. This situation serves as yet another critical reminder for parents and guardians to discuss the responsible use of social media with your children. The Comsewogue School District has a zero tolerance policy for posting or sharing of any threatening or bullying messages, and it will be dealt with severely. Such behaviors also lead to serious legal consequences as well. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the high school principal or myself. Good evening. It's Dr. Quinn. I just wanted to call and give you some updates on some of the things that our wonderful students are accomplishing around the district. Congratulations to the students who participated in the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra concert this weekend at the Staller Center. There was a lot of students from our district represented there, so that was really wonderful to be part of.

Congratulations to our Boys Varsity Soccer team. They won the Suffolk County Championship and they are now playing for the Long Island Championship tomorrow night at Farmingdale College at 7:00 P.M. Congratulations to the Boys Varsity football team. They're going to play in the first round of playoffs at Westhampton, Friday at 6:00 P.M. And congratulations to the Student Drama Production who had their show, Almost, Maine, over the weekend, and that was great as well.

Also, it's a time of year where we have to remember about head lice, unfortunately, so if you have a situation please make sure that you let the nurse know right away. I think it's a good idea to check your child's heads regularly, and you might want to, if your child has long hair, start pulling them back.

For the past seven years, we've conducted annual surveys to help improve our schools using the middle states' accreditation process to help us grow. So during the first round of 2016 to '23, we worked on our goals. If you'd like to check them out, they're on the website. We have a survey now that we're going to formulate our next steps. If you'd like to participate, we would greatly appreciate it. Onto the weekly events. We have sports, winter sports, beginning at JFK on Monday. On Tuesday, we have Superintendents Conference Day, schools closed for students. On Wednesday, Clinton has RIF. It's Open Gym Night at Boyle, Terryville and JFK. Norwood has a virtual NSA meeting. On Thursday, the secondary first quarter ends, which is crazy. I can't believe how quick that went. Congratulations to Varsity Boys Soccer who are in the first round of the playoffs tomorrow at Smithtown West at 2:00 PM. There's no admission for the game, so come on down and support the team. Mariano Rivera Honda is providing free holiday meals for anyone in need, particularly if you're a veteran. If you know anyone who qualifies, please have them contact the school social worker immediately. There is a limited amount of meals and we have to fill out the forms.

Boys Varsity Volleyball is hosting their annual volleyball clinic on October 29th for students grades five through eight. If you'd like to sign up for that, the information is on the website. It's also time to register for youth basketball, and they also have a clinic, and that's going to be on Friday, November 8th for boys in grades three through five. All that information is on the website. Youth wrestling is going to be starting shortly and that will be up on the website on the end of the week.
On to the weekly events, we have a SEPTA meeting on Tuesday. On Wednesday, we have Trick-or-Treat Street at the high school. We have our Standards of Excellence Committee meeting at district office or via Zoom, and we have our Board of Education workshop. On Friday, it's Elementary Pajama Day, Terryville Citizen of the Month, and Penny Friday, and the high school has a performing arts show on both Friday and Saturday. It's the Clinton Book Fair, JFK Book Fair, and the JFK Fall Dance. Friday is Blue and Gold Day. We have our Boyle School of Excellence banner unveiling at 3:30 if you'd like to join us for that, our bonfire at 6:30, and the Homecoming dance at the high school. Saturday, we have our homecoming parade beginning at noon. We have our carnival at 12:30, Hall of Fame induction ceremony, our courtyard unveiling at 2:00, and the varsity football game. Good morning. It's Dr. Quinn. I'm sorry to interrupt you during the day, but I wanted to provide some clarification about a rumor that's spreading around the high school. On Monday, a situation was brought to the attention of our high school building administration involving a student's disturbing journal entry regarding another student. That student was immediately removed from the classroom. Both students' parents were contacted and the district is addressing the situation in accordance with our code of conduct.

Unfortunately, another student shared the journal entry, and based on misunderstanding of the circumstances surrounding it, several students began to take action in what they considered to be a protest against the student who wrote the entry.

In one case, a student posted to social media that they were going to come into school today suited and booted. This was mistakenly interpreted as the student making a threat of harm against the high school and other students, thus the reason for my call this morning.

Principal Mosca quickly brought the situation under control and spoke with all students and parents involved. Please be assured, again, please be assured that if there's ever a legitimate threat to our schools, I will notify you immediately. Please be mindful that rumors spread like wildfire, and if you ever need any clarification, you can always reach out to me or the building administration for clarification. Have a great day.

Congratulations to our very own Boyle Elementary School. The National PTA has named them one of 10 schools of excellence, so we're so proud of that.

Onto the weekly events. On Monday, the high school has back-to-school night. Tuesday, Norwood has their NSA meeting and their back-to-school night. On Wednesday, we have an audit committee meeting at 6:30. There's a Board of Education workshop at 7:30 and then our Board of Ed meeting at eight o'clock. On Friday, don't forget to wear yellow for pediatric cancer awareness. You can also donate a gift card for Stony Brook Hospital Oncology. We're going to collect them this week. So if you'd like to drop off a card, we would appreciate that. Terryville also has their welcome back Family Fun Night, and that's at six o'clock.

Good evening. It's Dr. Quinn. I'm reaching out to let you know about a recent nationwide social media trend that encourages school threats during fire drills and increased bomb threats. These threats have been deemed non-credible, but they are certainly a nuisance and can be very frightening. I'm sure you've seen them on the news. I watched the news for about a half hour today, and I saw it too, of our local schools that were involved.

I want to circle back to last week's football game. I want to repeat that there were no weapons found on school property, and there certainly was not a stabbing. What did happen was two students attempted to confront another student, but mistakenly went up to the wrong student, and that student ran away. Multiple students went along with their phones on in an attempt to tape the incident. This goes against everything we're working so hard to teach our students and is just not okay. I need to make sure that this never happens again. Any student involved in anything like this will have the steepest consequences possible.

We have a night game tomorrow. I really need your help to make sure that things go smoothly. I want to remind you of a few school procedures. First, only service dogs are permitted on school grounds. Second, if you ride your bike or your scooter, when you get to the school, you must tie it to the bike rack. We've just brought two more bike racks, so there's plenty of room for all of the bikes and the scooters. If you come to watch the game, you need to watch the game. Students will not be permitted to roam around the school facilities.

Now here's the big one. I'm asking families to make every effort possible to accompany your elementary and middle school children to the game. Friday night football games are great community events and can be a lot of fun. If you can't make it, maybe you can have a neighbor or a relative take responsibility for your child, but dropping off unaccompanied youngsters leads to a variety of issues. Many districts have moved away from night games, I don't want to do that. Please speak with your child, and I look forward to seeing you at the game tomorrow.

The program was created by the Sandy Hook Promise. It's a nationwide program that helps students engage in activities that makes them feel connected and inclusive within their school awareness. So if you could join in, that would be wonderful. I know each of the buildings had sent something home. The community garden plan sale orders have been extended to Tuesday. All orders can be picked up at the Community Garden Fall Festival from 11:00 to 2:00 on Sunday, the 22nd. There'll be lots of great activities for everyone.

Onto the weekly events. On Monday, JFK club fairs begin. JFK also has their PTSA meeting and their back-to-school night. On Tuesday, Terryville has their PTA meeting and their back-to-school night. Also, one of our Eagle Scouts is holding a fundraiser to help pay for their community project. It's going to be at Five Guys. It's a great project. They're improving the community garden. On Wednesday, Clinton has a CASA meeting and their back-to-school night. Thursday is senior and parent guidance night. On Friday, it's the Clinton Welcome Back Barbecue and Norwood has their ice cream social. There was an incident tonight at the high school involving some of our students. They were at the football game. There was an allegation made that a student had a weapon on them. Nobody saw the weapon. The student did not say that there was a weapon, but it was assumed that there could be a weapon. The police have been contacted and are still on the scene. They're conducting an investigation. The district is doing their own investigation, and I will update you as soon as I get more information. Have a good night.

Good afternoon. It's Dr. Quinn. I have two updates for you. The first is regarding a situation at JFK. One of our students was watching some TikTok videos on the bus this morning. The content was related to school shootings. In addition to the content being very disturbing, the student indicated that one of the videos may have mentioned that New York was a potential site for a school shooting. The district immediately contacted Suffolk County Police, officers were dispatched, and an investigation was conducted. At this point in time, there is no credible threat to either New York State or our school specifically. We do not believe that there is any cause for concern. As we've discussed in the past, we encourage parents and guardians to have ongoing discussions with their children regarding online platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, et cetera. It's hard to differentiate what's factual and what's rumor or fabrication, and a lot of these things that the kids are watching can be extremely upsetting and traumatic.

With that said, I would rather have a child report something that ends up not being accurate than keeping the information to themselves and missing a potential issue. So we always encourage kids to come, and community members, if you hear that there's something that is of concern, we want to know about it. We would rather spend the time determining that if it's accurate or not than to miss something that could be accurate and wasn't reported.

On another note, some of you may have noticed the puddle of water outside of the main entrance of Boyle. We had a water main break. Suffolk County Water Authority is on scene and we're taking necessary steps to repair it. If there's any additional updates needed, I will get back to you at a later date. Subject: Weekly Announcements

Good afternoon. It's Dr. Quinn. I hope everyone had a great first week back. For planning purposes on Wednesday, if you'd like to have your child wear red, white, and blue, we will be focusing on patriotism and heroism throughout the day. It will look different at the different levels. For example, the younger ones will be attending patriotic sing-alongs, but each of the students throughout the school district will be focusing on the American spirit and why our country is such a great country to live in.

Also, September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month. We have some activities planned throughout the month, but if you'd like to donate a gift card for Stony Brook Children's Hospital Oncology, there are boxes set up in each of the schools so you can drop them off or send them in with your child. On Monday the JFK Fall plant sale pre-orders began. We have a board of education meeting and that is at eight o'clock. You could attend live or you can watch that live-streamed.

On Tuesday, it's our first no homework Tuesday of the year. Just the purpose of no homework Tuesday is to give families extra time to do something fun as a family. So it's our first one. Boyle has a PTA meeting and a fifth grade committee meeting, and it's also Boyle's back to school night. On Wednesday, as I said, we'll be marking the anniversary of September 11th. On Thursday JFK has picture day, Boyle has their ice cream social and picture day continues on Friday. And don't forget, every Friday we wear blue and gold to show our school spirit. And there is a link on our website, the state is looking for some input, they're considering changing the way they fund our schools, so if you'd like to check that out, we'd certainly appreciate your input. The most important thing to us is that we know how the schools will be funded. It seems to change from year to year, and then even when they say how it'll be funded, then sometimes they don't give us the full funding, which makes it very hard to balance. Good afternoon. It's Dr. Quinn. It's tough to think about September and coming back to school on such a beautiful day, but we are. Construction is going well, and we're on target to have all of our summer projects completed for the beginning of the school year. Elementary schedules are available today. Secondary schedules will be released on the 22nd. If you didn't update your URL in June, you're going to have to do that now. The reason that the elementary schedules get released earlier than the secondary schedules is because we need summer school and the August Regents to be over. Once you get your secondary schedule, if you have any questions or you need anything changed, please complete the Google form and your counselors will be in the following Monday to assist. We have fall Sports, kindergarten roundup, elementary visits, high school orientations, and all sorts of great things coming up, so please be sure and check your calendar regularly and keep an ear out for the calls from the individual building principals. Enjoy the last few weeks of summer and we can't wait to see you for the start of a brand new school year.
