Vision

Our task at the Comsewogue School District is to provide engaging opportunities for all  students and prepare each learner for success as a contributing citizen of a global community.  It is my role, as the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction, to assist in the supervision of our K-12 instructional program, teacher professional development, as well as the the efficacy of all district operations.

The mission of the Comsewogue School District is to empower our students to become lifelong learners through clearly defined goals and personal connections in a collaborative environment where all members of our community are partners in fostering well rounded global citizens who are prepared to achieve their maximum potential.

All students will graduate from the Comsewogue School District with the opportunity to:

  • Achieve his or her personal best

  • Be a collaborative team player

  • Belong to an interconnected community

  • Exemplify responsible citizenship

  • Engage in lifelong learning

Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment

The Comsewogue School District curriculum is aligned to the New York State Next Generation Learning Standards, guiding principles of our district and our community.  Differentiation of instruction results in learning and assessment matched to the individualized needs of our students.

Through research-based resources and data-driven planning,  instructional practices include using elements of Problem-Based Learning, technology integration, and differentiation to best meet students' unique learning styles.   We continually monitor and evaluate the success of our schools and students by utilizing formal and informal assessment data at both the district and state levels.

As a district, we continually are setting high expectations for our students and staff.  We look forward to opportunities to work collaboratively with our community to inform decisions that shape our goals each year. Together we can empower our children to succeed at their potential!
